What have you been reading 2

7 days...yes 7 days it took me to get through this book and my stupid need for sleep and eating and something called work prevented me from poishing this off in half that time. I ate up the pages and drank in the awesomeness of the book. For some people it has been 6 years since book 4, A Feast For Crows, was released but for me it was 3 weeks. I just started reading all the books near the end of May and had finished off book 4 in 5 days weeks ago and had to wait til July 15th to get this one. I then had to wait til July 18th to start into it as I was finishing off another book, Tad Williams' Shadowmarch, before cracking open this new one. Was the wait, 6 years, worth it? I believe it was for the most part as the book fullfilled the other half of the story begun in A Feast For Crows BUT I don't think it went far enough after catching up the timelines in my eyes. I WANTED MORE! I know for most readers 6 years was along time to wait for certain things only to find out that some of the characters stories were pushed off to the next book and left unspoken of in this volume. I know for me that I was left a bit underwhelmed by the lack of caught up time storyline and really wanted a few more hundred pages to get some real meat on this volume. Knowing that it took 6 years to get this out though I was willing to let it go but now I gotta wait years before volume 6 comes. I hope it isn't 6 years. I am now in the same boat as all the other fans out there!

I must say that since near the end of May I have never read as much as have, well over 8000 pages of printed material, and must say I am having a ball reading again. I used to read a book a week in my younger days after the lure of King had opened my eyes! I remember my first big book at age 13 and it was Stephen King's IT and it scared the crap out of me but it was worth it! Before that time and well into my 30's it was comics as the primary source of my reading but after IT came Tolkien's Hobbit and LOTR series and pretty much everything under the sun from then on. Now getting back into it I must say it is a good release again. I still have MANY books on my shelf that have gone unread over the years and cannot wait to get into them as well. As I mentioned above I started reading Tad Williams' Shadowmarch series and already am in about a 100 pages on book 2 after finishing with A Dance with Dragons yesterday. I need to pick up the other 2 books in the series which are already released and I was surprised to find I already had the first 2 books in this series on my shelf waiting for me. After that I gotta get back to and finish the Otherland Series by Tad Williams as I was half thru book 3 there and then onto....?

Have fun reading!
